Community care for all pregnancy experiences.

ABOUT HARAMBEE VILLAGE

We are a collective of birth professionals who support underrepresented women and families through both birthing services and community advocacy.

Our mission is to dismantle disparities of race, class, gender, and sexuality that lead to negative birth experiences; especially for women of color, women with economic barriers, survivors of trauma, immigrant women, as well as queer and transgender folx. We put mothers and babies first, working effectively with their entire support team including partners, family members, and midwives or medical personnel to provide well-rounded care.

The impact we make in your home is what drives us to make an impact outside of it.

Our Doula agency believes in action-based solutions to addressing disparities in perinatal health care, particularly for families of color.  Not only are our doulas working on a grassroots level to holistically support birthing families; our doula agency is working diligently with local stakeholders to implement true policy, systems, and environmental changes that are necessary in order to truly combat disparities in maternal and child health outcomes.

Our Community Partners

We believe in a holistic approach to care and have formed alliances that help us achieve this.

“One thing that I really appreciate Harambee Village for, is their push for advocacy. These women really helped me gain the strength to advocate for myself and my body."
